The RIAA over stepping boundaries

Monday, December 31st, 2007

If I purchase a CD, I should be able to do with that CD, whatever the hell I want to do with said CD !

Not if the RIAA has their will with you and I.

Here is the piece of the story:

Now, in an unusual case in which an Arizona recipient of an RIAA letter has fought back in court rather than write a check to avoid hefty legal fees, the industry is taking its argument against music sharing one step further: In legal documents in its federal case against Jeffrey Howell, a Scottsdale, Ariz., man who kept a collection of about 2,000 music recordings on his personal computer, the industry maintains that it is illegal for someone who has legally purchased a CD to transfer that music into his computer.

By the way, I did purchase one of these,Apple's iphone.

Having said this….the below article and item could come in quite handy !

From Macworld :

Call me when it does WEP

Wi-Fi shirt

Yes, Virginia. Yes it can.
And thus was born the Wi-Fi Detector Shirt from Think Geek. Sure, its front-mounted animated display will show you the current strength of a detected Wi-Fi network (802.11b or 802.11g—sorry ‘n’ fans), but we know what the specs you want to see, so don’t worry: it is indeed 100% cotton.

The display is even removable, so you can toss the shirt in the washing machine, or avoid getting mistakenly labeled as a terrorist. And it’ll run for hours on a pair of AAA batteries in a concealed pocket—presuming, of course, that you can afford a pair of AAA batteries after paying $30 for a t-shirt.

But really, it’s way cooler and more useful than just putting a clock on your shirt. I bet you dollars to big giant clocks that Flavor Flav wishes he’d thought of this first.

Pretty cool , huh ?

iphone purchase, maybe I will hold off for a while.

Bloggers Profiled by AdAge

Monday, June 4th, 2007

Beth over at AdAge.com puts together a nice collection of data on bloggers. (scroll to the bottom to download a pdf with pie charts) As a 30 year old, English speaking Latino, Mac owning, non-everyday flosser, US male, I appear to fall squarely in the middle. (something I have never done in a survey)

Everybody wants to put people into a group – the problem with bloggers is that they are more defined by their conversations than by their attributes. Find out what they are talking about and you will find out about them. (seems too easy to be true)
